OK, this was going to be an informal post but it's a rant... it's probably displayed in the writing style.

I'm tired of being told to speak up about my struggles because I believe it's NOT remedial for me. Yes, unfortunately, you've walked in on chapter 11 and my struggles took place in chapters 6 thru 9.

I still wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment that;

“It’s okay not to be okay."

However, it's also okay to do what you feel is right for you. By simply carrying out this action I am free, I am openly discussing my emotions and I am showing that I am vulnerable - all of this talk about mental health, abuse, feminism, masculinity, toxic masculinity etc, is emotionally draining. I mean, it's actually quite possible that there's a small group of unassuming individuals out there feeling pressurised to talk about their emotions and at this moment in time are "failing"!

Ahhhh the vicious cycle of creating stigma.

I'm an individual who feels I've ALWAYS been able to discuss my emotions openly, which a lot of people weren't there for - and that's okay. I think what I'm trying to say because I like being unnecessarily extra is;

It's okay to not be okay AND it's always up to you when a well as how you choose to express your emotions, as long as it's done in a forward-looking manner.

Speak about it, write about it or maybe even do something creative as an outlet.

You might not be masculine and you may not be an extrovert, and that's okay too. Modern masculinity is on the up! Although there's still some work to do on the portrayal of men and minorities.
